Olympics

(February 6 & 13, 2014)

^^ Poor little buddy had to get his shots and they gave him one in the arm. :(

^^ I would like to note that is Travis's nightstand, not mine.

^^ Something new I learned about Travis this year-he's completely obsessed with the olympics! We hooked the tv in our room up so it gets like three channels and watched the games every night. Charlie thought it was cool to get to hang out on our bed and stay up past his bedtime! Haha.

ONE

A letter to Charleston,

You are one! How did this happen? You were a tiny baby five seconds ago and now you are a one year old! You have brought the most joy and love into our lives. I can't even remember what we did without your bright smile every morning and your slobbery kisses. You are such a happy boy and you just light up everything around you. When you were born and the doctor held you up so we could see, I thought my heart would burst from all the love I felt in that moment. We are so lucky that we get to be your mom and dad! Spending my days with you is just the best. Your little personality just shines and you are so funny. You love playing with your dad when he comes home from work, I think it might be your favorite time of day next to bath time! We love watching you grow and we can't wait to see what life has in store for you. Whatever it is, it's going to be big! Happiest of birthdays sweet boy, here's to a hundred more!

We love you to the moon and back.
Love, Mom and Dad

^^ We had a little party with a few of our friends and Charlie's favorite thing-PIZZA! It was so fun to celebrate our sweet boy.

^^ I think he was pretty pleased with the frosting. ;)

^^ The next morning we came out to the living room and he thought we had made a fort especially for him! He crawled in and out of his 'fort' all morning! I think he found a few stray pieces of cake too. ;)

picture perfect

(February 11-12, 2014)

Since Charlie was born I have instagrammed about a million photos of him. I would say the majority of those are photos where he is grinning or laughing and I have gotten several comments like, "Does this baby every cry?!"

Short answer, YES!

Long answer, he does cry. But when he's upset and crying my first thought is to comfort him and not to pull out my camera. So there aren't a whole lot of pictures where he isn't smiling. To be honest he is a really happy baby. But he is a baby and he has his moments. Our life isn't perfect but I try every day to look on the bright side and find things to be happy about. I like to keep the things I post on the positive side and not do my complaining online. ;) But I was scrolling through my phone and found these two "real" moments so I thought I would share. Plus I think he's adorable even when he cries.
