Charlie: Five Months

Mr. Charleston hit a big milestone and rolled from back to front! I caught it on video about the second time he did it. So cute.

He can sit up pretty well in the bumbo or highchair.

Went for his second plane ride (well technically his fifth but only his second trip) and did great until our flight was delayed and we had to sit around in the denver airport for four hours and didn't get to Idaho until 2 in the morning! But he actually still did pretty well. He's a good little travel buddy.

He really laughs out loud now and will laugh and smile for people other than me and Trav.

Went to his first birthday party! Cousin Nels turned one.

He loooooves otter pops....oops.

For some reason he has been spitting up way more than ever. As soon as I feed him if I don't lay him down on the floor or bouncer (so almost flat) he will puke all over whoever is holding him. Or if he rolls onto his tummy right after eating.

Had a few bad nights in a row-up almost every hour. That was unpleasant! But then he started sleeping about 10 or 11 hours!

When we were in Idaho he had some really bad eczema-like rashes on his arms and legs. It didn't last very long though so I don't really know what it was. I used some lavender on the worst spots (the back of his knees) and tried some aveeno eczema therapy lotion. Not sure if either of those actually helped but it's gone now! (You can see it pretty good in some of these photos and overall he's just kind of red and sneezy looking.)

He does this weird thing where he scratches his legs, tummy or the back of his neck. It's like he can't help it. I thought it had to do with the rash but he is still doing it and the rash is gone. I have to keep his nails as short as possible but they grow so fast!

Still wearing size three diapers and most of the same clothes.

Weight: around 18 lbs just from weighing myself and then picking him up and weighing us together-so reliable ;)

We did these pics outside at my parent's house and it was a little bright for him so his eyes are closed in most of them-oh well he's still  adorable!

Visitors

The hardest thing for me about living in Iowa so far has been being away from family. That got so much worse when Charlie was born! I wish everyone could see him and spend time with him every day. That's why I post a million pictures of him every day! (Well that and the fact that I'm kind of obsessed with him.) These are all the pics I have of Charlie's visitors since we brought him home.

My mom came when Charlie was one week old and totally saved me. I was so overwhelmed with being a mom and healing from surgery. I have always known my mom loved me but I couldn't even understand how much until I had a baby of my own. She was here for a week and it was not enough time!

Trav's mom and brother and sister came when Charlie was about a month old. They cooked us dinner and took care of us and it was so fun to have some company!

Daniel and Darcy brought Olivia and made the looooooooong drive to come to Charlie's blessing. We took them to the Tulip festival and of course it rained! Haha. It was so fun having them here though and Charlie was in heaven.

Typical Danno. :)

Liv is everyone's favorite. Can you tell?? The nieces don't call her that though-to them she is EE or Yiffy.

I would just like to point out the double tie dye happening in this photo-haha. And I think Charlie likes Danno just a little bit.

Aunt Darcy is also a fave around here. Come back you guys!!!

Rainy day at the tulip festival.

Terry and Debie also made the long trip out here for the blessing. They were around in all of the pics above but this is the only picture I have with them actually in it. ;)
Larkin and Cody actually came and visited when Charlie was pretty new still but I don't have any pictures of course. And Aunt Tammi came down for a short visit while she was here visiting Larkin. But again-no photos.

Charlie is so lucky to have so many people who love and care about him! I'm sure we would have a lot more visitors if we didn't live in the middle of nowhere 20 hours from Idaho. Haha. We can't wait until Christmas when we are going home for a visit!

Idaho Visit

(May 8-May 20, 2013)

The first few photos on here are from my camera and the rest are from my phone so they are in
chronological order but camera photos first. If that makes sense haha.

Nels and Charlie. Seeing these two together is so fun and was definitely one of my favorite things about getting to take Charlie to Idaho. Nels was so excited every time Charlie was around. Charlie was still a little young but next time we see them I'm sure they are going to be little troublemakers.

Sisters and our boys. It's so weird that we have babies!

We got to go to Bekah's wedding in Logan. It was a really fun day and I'm so glad I could be there!

Sweet Sonora. She was pretty excited about Charlie too. All these little cousins just melt my heart!

Charlie loves his grandpa and grandpa loves his Charlie.

The rest are from my phone and start the day we got to Idaho. I tried to take a picture of everyone meeting him for the first time. He was a little worn out from being on the plane all day but he warmed up pretty quick!

This is Nelsy meeting Charlie for the first time. I know this pic is blurry but look how excited he was! I was laying on my moms bed feeding Charlie and Katie came in with Nels and he could not crawl across the bed fast enough. It was so cute! We were worried he would be too rough with him but he was always just so sweet.

Here we are at Bekah's wedding! Can you believe we are all married now? And Andrea was pregnant in this picture (yes the tall skinny one in green that doesn't even look pregnant!) and has since had her little boy. So fun.

Little cousins. Just the best. Lulu was so cute with him and loved holding him. He loves her too-just look at him staring at her.

Grandma and great grandma giving Mr. Charleston a bath. His favorite time of day.

First mothers day. Being a mother is so strange. I made that little person! It's so much better than I ever imagined.

Charlie meeting little twin cousins Oliver and Drew. Someone asked them where his nose is-and they both pointed to their own. They are so dang cute!

Charleston and his great-great grandparents. Yes that's right! Two greats! They just celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. He is their 99th direct descendant. Pretty amazing!

This was his first experience swimming at Katie's neighbor's pool and he loved it! It was so fun!

This was at our little family get together called Golda's girls. Golda is my great grandma and we have started a little family reunion with just the women for the weekend. This was the first time I was able to go. It was really fun to get to see some cousins I haven't seen in years! Above is my grandma and some of her sisters and sisters in law. Below is my cousin Madison and her baby.

Charlie loves iJump!

He seriously loves Daniel. Zonked right out. Look at that little arm just totally relaxed.

This last one is at the airport heading home. It was so great to see everyone and then it was so tough to leave!
